The SRC is to host Stefan Ingves when he visits the London School of Economics (LSE) this July. Ingves is Governor of the Riksbank and Chairman of its Executive Board. In his role as Chairman of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, he is in charge of designing Basel III, the new financial regulations that will help protect the financial system from excesses whilst supporting its mission of promoting economic growth. Ingves will give a public lecture at LSE on Monday 7th July entitled ‘Towards a safer and more stable financial system’ in which he will address whether Basel III lives up to its expectations and the main obstacles to its implementation.
